Where were you? I was home in Hawaii. I awoke to my alarm at 0500 (1100 EST). I was scheduled to fly to Honolulu that morning to out-process my duty station, as I was being transferred to Ft. Rucker, AL. Got up, same routine: click on the TV as I headed to the kitchen to make coffee. The TV came on and Fox News was on, showing footage Flight 93 crash in Shanksville, PA. It was so frightening to see, and at this point, that is all I know.....THEN....the NY and Pentagon footage begins to roll........I am on my knees in front of the TV crying and watching.....As a child, the house I grew up in had an amazing sassafras tree in the corner of our yard....I could climb up high enough to see the NY Skyline....I watched those towers grow.....I watched those towers fall. NEVER FORGET.
