The graduate transfer played his high school ball in Hartford thanks to his fathers job at ESPN. Also, with Diaco going with Brian Kelly to Notre Dame after the 2009 season, hes familiar with this weeks opposing coach. Golic still has some high school friends in the area and wouldnt mind recording his first Bearcat reception at Rentschler Field. Thus far, he has performed admirably as a blocking tight end in short yardage and goal-line situations. This past weekend, he was part of two of the craziest games on the college football menu. After UCs 54-46 track meet on Thursday night against East Carolina, he made his way to South Bend (along with his mother and father) for the next mornings Mike and Mike show on ESPN Radio. If you were up early enough (or didnt get much sleep like Jake) you would have seen him in the background as the two hosts traded predictions on the fictional Mike and Mike Bowl a/k/a Notre Dame vs. Northwestern. Greenbergs Wildcats prevailed over Golics Irish in unpredictable fashion, which means hilarity ensues at some point this week.
