Why did Larry leave after Season 5? He wanted to pursue other projects, especially directing and producing ones, and felt creatively stifled since the series had become more centered around Ponch. For the record, he and Erik always made the exact same amount per episode (I think by the time he left it was $25,000 per) and he had a clause in his contract that asked that he and Erik be treated equally. Whatever perks/gifts/raises he got, he wanted Erik to get too, and vice versa. ~Sue
