Why do we have to limit ourselves with one national language? When other countries adopted more than one national language. The Democratic Republic of Congo has four national languages (excluding French as its official language). Switzerland also recognizes German, French, Italian, and Romansh as its national languages. Or Finland has both Finnish and Swedish as its national languages. Unless we recognize who we are and what we are -- being multi-ethnic and multilingual -- this unnecessary invention of a Filipino language will remain a divisive force in our cultural history. #buwanngwika
