Why this is important Excellency President of the Republic, The SUIPA - PROTECTIVE COMPANY INTERNATIONAL UNION OF ANIMALS particular civic association, non-profit, municipal and state public utility existing seventy years ago, is the first oldest animal protection in the State of Rio de Janeiro and the second oldest in Brazil. Never received any money from abroad and not of municipal, state or federal authorities, and maintained since 1943 by Brazilian nationals who, until today, become associated with the knowledge of the constant action of SUIPA in favor of animal concerned and, consequently, public health. All officers and directors SUIPA work for free, as their status. Numerous unknown Brazilians and others conceptualized as: Rachel de Queiroz, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Nise da Silveira, Otto Lara Rezende, Roberto Marinho, Zeze Macedo, Sérgio Brito and many others, were part of the direction of SUIPA. In 1975 SUIPA got his philanthropy and his federal public service, but in 1995 the SUIPA lost both titles for not fitting the Organic Law that protects not only people and nonhuman animals. With these losses, the SUIPA was unable to afford federal taxes, such as Social Security EMPLOYERS, which would be around forty thousand reais monthly to the Union and the debt accumulated alarmingly and in 2013 is above ten million. Because of this debt, are getting tax SUIPA plays and runs the risk of losing what little wealth they gained from deceased members, whose rents are reversed for the payment of monthly expenses. The payroll of wages is three hundred and eighty thousand reais a month, due to the number of 150 contract employees, such as veterinarians, assistants general services, attendants, drivers and others. The SUIPA is population control of cats and dogs for decades, registering families living in communities so that the animals can be sterilized and vaccinated for free, wormed and treated by the staff SUIPA. The SUIPA rescues and rescues animals in emergency state that are abandoned on the streets, meets the offices of public bodies like the Public Ministry, Fire Department, Civil and Military Police officers, and receive, some of these bodies, many animals, including wild in deplorable state of health. The SUIPA can not close its gates after all these years, saving lives and collaborating with the community and with the government.
