Will We Speak up For our #Prophet (saw)? Following the attack on the offices of the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, Muslims have faced a lot of pressure from secular governments and media to accept insults against our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) in the name of the liberal value of Freedom of Speech. Various narratives have been promoted, for example that Islamic values are somehow to blame for the incident or that anyone who rejects the right of individuals to offend religions is backward and an enemy of enlightenment and debate. The aim has been, as with the ongoing and relentless vilification of Islamic beliefs, to create fear within Muslims such that they leave their Islamic values and embrace the Western liberal ideals.
