Win the Watercooler, July 21: -- Andrew McCutchens tie-breaking single in the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner as the Pirates completed a three-game series sweep of the Rockies in Pittsburgh. Jeanmar Gomez, who pitched a scoreless seventh inning, was credited with the victory, after two other members of Pittsburghs bullpen picked up wins on Friday (Tony Watson) and Saturday (Jared Hughes). Its the first time that the Pirates swept a series of three or more games with a different reliever earning the victory in each game since June 1978, when three brand-name pitchers, Ed Whitson, Grant Jackson and Kent Tekulve, were credited with wins out of the bullpen in a three-game sweep of the Padres at Three Rivers Stadium. (Elias) -- The Buffalo Bills haven’t made the playoffs since 1999, the longest active playoff drought in the NFL. Their last playoff game was a loss to the Titans in the 1999 Wild Card Playoffs (a.k.a. the Music City Miracle). Their last playoff win was in the 1995 Wild Card Playoffs against the Dolphins. The only teams without a playoff win from 1996 to 2013 are the Bills, Lions, Browns, Bengals and Chiefs.
