Wind power dearer in new state policy The state government Thursday announced a hike in the tariff on wind power, from Rs 3.56 per unit to Rs 4.15 as part of the much-awaited wind energy policy. This is the highest hike effected so far. Under the 2007 policy that expired in August 2012, the rate was Rs 3.37 per unit, which was hiked to Rs 3.5 per unit in 2009. "The new policy will help accelerate the capacity of wind power generation in the state," said Minister of State for Energy and Petrochemicals Saurabh Patel.
