With various holiday seasons upon us, it is time for us all to reflect on our lives and give thanks for what we have. Thanksgiving is our traditional American holiday, one that only seems to get more important given how easy it is to get caught up in the fast pace of our daily lives. Technology, while a blessing in countless ways, makes it all too easy to stay connected to work or other distractions, and in some sense can blind us to what is really important: spending time with friends and family and giving back to the communities that made us the people we are today. The idea that we can set aside a day to take stock of our lives and give thanks for the things we hold dear seems all the more important given the hardships we have faced over the last few years. From a once-in-a-lifetime economic downturn, to dangerous storms, to unthinkable tragedy, we have faced challenges that no one would ever have asked for. Yet, in those darkest moments of need, I have been thankful for the tremendous grace and compassion we have shown to one another. One hundred fifty years ago, in the midst of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of Thanksgiving. Though it was a time of hardship, Thanksgiving was a day for Americans to express gratitude for the many blessings they enjoyed, including the sacrifices of those serving in uniform and their families. Every year since, Americans have come together during this season to reflect and to give thanks. While we sit down with family and friends this Thanksgiving Day please take a moment to thank our Men and Women in Uniform where ever they may be that make holidays like this possible. While we sit here enjoying the holidays they are out there defending our freedom. To all those deployed overseas: know that Americans will be thinking about you as they gather around the Thanksgiving table, and praying for your safe return. To their families back here at home: Americans will always be indebted to you for sacrificing on their behalf. FHR Radio, our families, supporters, staff and myself would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you that has supported our efforts these past 9 years. If anything we have done has helped you in any way, shape or form I believe we have accomplished our job. We have to thank our many friends, record labels both major and independent, public relations people, artist managers, distribution services, venues, supporters, the many artists we work with or have worked with at the national and international level, the parents of many of those artists as well, the many great people that work behind the scenes, the fans and above all our many loyal listeners that help make what FHR Radio is today. We strive to bring you the music you want to hear. We strive to support the efforts of artists in the younger generation that deserve to have the same opportunities as anyone else. We strive to serve our many great independent artists both here in the USA and around the world who deserve to have their music heard. We strive to help bring the voice of independent artists into homes around the world. Independent artists are a major backbone of our music industry and we thank each one of them for their contribution to music today. From our families to yours may you all have a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving Holiday. God Bless You All WFHR Radio
