Would you be interested in becoming a kitten foster home for HART? - TopicsExpress

Would you be interested in becoming a kitten foster home for HART? We would like to increase the number of foster homes in this program too. Kittens come to HART all year round, though we are busiest in the spring and summer. HART gets our kittens out into foster care as soon as they come to the shelter, and the kittens remain in their foster homes until they are adopted - we believe this is the safest way to care for our precious little ones. There are many different situations for fostering. Some assignments can last just a few days, and others up to several months. Heres what we see: *Pregnant moms *Moms with babies *Kittens without mothers who are so young they require bottle feedings *Kittens without mothers who are old enough to eat solid food *Older kittens who just need a few days to get medically cleared for adoption *Kittens who require socializing before adoption We require that you have a separate space to keep the kittens and moms safe from any other pets or hazards in your house - this can be a spare bedroom, or even just a bathroom. HART will provide food, litter, and any medications, and we pay for all vet care. It is extremely helpful when foster families are able to help with transporting their kittens to vet appointments and adoption events. As in life, there can be times of sadness and heartbreak, but great happiness and joy come far more often. Kitten fostering is a very rewarding experience - wouldnt you like to join our team? Send a message to the HART Facebook page to start the conversation, and we will connect you with our kitten foster team if you decide this sounds like the program for you!
