Years ago, Thanksgiving Eve was looked upon with great anticipation for me and my friends for way different reasons than now. Party on! Go crazy and sleep in. Now motherhood has certainly given me a different perspective. This year, my favorite Bears fan John McKeown is the turkey master and my favorite cousin Bev McKeown is the concert conductor, and my favorite cousin Beth Carollo is a master of drunken pecan pies, and life is good. Tonight as I sip a margarita while I await the conclusion of basketball practice, I think of how life is not how I thought it would be at this age but its wonderful just the same. I will fill the car with the items I am bringing to the Land of Lincoln, make sure everyone is showered, and curl up with a book. Ive done my share of cooking and Im so thankful for people like Jim Daniel and John Daniel and Jay Daniel for being my family.
