Yesterday as I was driving all over the Seattle area for work, I - TopicsExpress

Yesterday as I was driving all over the Seattle area for work, I had the radio on (as usual) for traffic reports. As you all know by now, traffic reports were forgotten in the non-stop coverage of yesterdays horrific event at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. The one ray of sunlight I caught in all that darkness was when one sobbing high school girl told a reporter what happened. She desribed everyones shock when the shooting started and how many of the kids made a break for it and ran out the nearby door of the cafeteria. She told of the terror of dozens of kids running across a field and into the woods screaming, Keep running! and Call the cops! They ran to a back gate on the property, wisely opting to get as far from the building as possible --- but the gate was closed and locked. It would have been so easy for the stronger, more athletic ones to get over the fence and leave the others behind, but that didnt happen. Though scared beyond reason or thought, they stopped and helped each other get over the fence. I thought that was profoundly brave.
