Yesterday morning I spoke via video with eighth graders from Stonington’s Pine Point School whose class trip to Washington, D.C. had to be postponed because of the government shutdown. I was impressed with their thoughtful questions about the situation, and the initiative they took to get involved in their government. Special thanks to their teacher, Gretchen Federici, for bringing the students to my Norwich office to deliver their letters and meet with me.
