Yesterday was my one-month post-op appointment. I need reading/computer glasses - I knew this. The doctor also wants me in driving glasses. Im still adjusting to life with real vision - I went from -10.5 diopters to -.75 in my weaker eye. The doctor says its going to take me a while, that this is normal, that the world wont always seem so bright and overwhelming. Odd as it sounds, I think having glasses back - even if only part time - will help me there. Ive had a barrier between me and the world for for 44 years - I feel super-vulnerable without it. Still - I love my new eyes. Having the surgery was one of the best decisions Ive ever made.
