#Zambia: Sata to dispose off Guy Scott soon and appoint Edgar Lungu as veep | ZWD: https://zambianwatchdog/sata-to-dispose-off-guy-scott-soon-and-appoint-edgar-lungu-as-veep/ President Michael Sata will soon dump and dispose off his long time friend Guy Scott as vice-president and appoint newly found high flyer and strongman Edgar Lungu to take over, according to highly placed State House sources. Part of the plan will also involve dissolving parliament, most likely after passing the national budget and call for an early election where Edgar Lungu will be the PF candidate. Lungu has recently been given back his Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) law practicing certificate which was suspended for misusing clients money among other offences. Sources say Sata, who just arrived yesterday from New York, United States of America, where he just went for resting in the hotel, is determined to impose Lungu as the PF candidate. “But there are some resentments from other senior PF members such as Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili who has also been campaigning to succeed president Sata. In fact, others even feel the seat can even be given to outsiders such as Felix Mutati or Elias Chipimo jr because they feel Lungu maybe difficult to sell. Lungu is such a gentleman and very soft for the liking of many PF members. And his history with LAZ and personal life makes some in PF feel will be such a huge gamble to sell,” sources say. As for Guy Scott, it is the usual thing of being used by Sata and later dumped like he has done with Fred Mmembe of the Post newspaper, former Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, Chongwe MP Silvia Masebo and others to follow such as Southern province minister Daniel Munkombwe. “Ordinarily, Sata would have loved his son Mulenga Sata to take over but the period is too short to market him and he lacks the charisma of telling lies like his father. Sata considers PF a family party and he fears with Lungu, PF will no longer be the same. But is a case of desperation and lacking choices as Sata feels the time to vacate is now due to his poor health condition,” sources say.
