Zeus H. Armageddon is in the Rotorua Weekenders Pet Idol Competition and he wants your vote so he can eat allll the treats while reclining in his super fancy new cat bed from Wonderworld Aquarium and Pet centre LTD! Hes the Adam Lambert of Pet Idol... obviously. So have a look in your letterbox for todays Weekender and cut the voting paper thing out to vote for ZEUS! Originally, I thought this competition was going to include a story about the animals... heres Zeuss story below: ~~~~ I fell in love with Zeus H. Armageddon when I saw him huddled under a chair at the Rotorua SPCA. He looked at me with big gold eyes and fired mental love bullets through my cerebral cortex. I picked him up and he smooched me, his purrs telling me softly that I needed him and that hed be the best kitty I ever owned. I had to have him. Zeus arrived home to a fresh cat tray, a bowl full of food, a plate of fresh meat and fresh water. He had a warm bed to sleep on, toys to play with and mice to hunt in the wood shed. Unfortunately he desired none of these things, his only need was the need to feed on the souls of the humans who had naively rescued him from his caged existence. It soon became clear that Zeus H. Armageddon did not want human affection, he wanted piece and quiet and a dark corner to plot his world takeover. If anyone walked too closely to him, he would reach out his paw, release his talons and draw blood on the innocent victim. Cuddles with Zeus were a thing that only occurred in my dreams and I was sad. But when I pulled his paperwork out and studied it a bit closer, I noticed his genealogy sheet and a lineage dating back decades. He had been a show cat, and his fancy name had been Ribbons Mister Meece. His distaste for human kind now made sense to me, and I felt pity for the kitty who was forced to have his butt inspected by people in white coats in front of his peers. I become accustomed to the nature of this boy we named Zeus H. Armageddon and we accepted each other and now love one another immensely. But his show days have not completely left him. Occasionally, on a lovely summers day I catch him posing, as he used to, showing his best side and feline version of Blue Steel to anyone who dared to look. For one cannot completely lose who they once were. Ribbons Mister Meece still lives inside the Honorable Zeus H. Armageddon and always will.
