as someone who spent time in the automotive repair industry, I have always made it a point to be able to observe work being done on my car, all shops will tell that due to insurance policies they are not suppose to let customers into repair areas, how ever legitimate repair shop will make an accommodation if you ask and/or you have the right to see any and all parts replaced, if a shop refuses, leave that shop and never go back. Back in the day when I lived in San Diego, there was one person in particular that ruined the name of any and all shops that worked on VWs.. Peachy Don Wilson, he would open a shop and offer a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty, and then slap together motors and do repair work using used parts and as soon as the work started to come back he would close shop. Get to know your mechanic treat them as a friend, they will take care of you. Now for the plug, since moving to Banning I have used the Goodyear shop on Ramseys Street... they suck ass dont go there, and the Menike in Beaumont also on Ramseys Street, they have always done good work for me I recommend them.
