It is one of the most impressively organised sporting tournaments in Barbados. The level of interest shown in the tournament over the last two years provides us with a glimpse of the potential of sports as an industry in Barbados. Over the next twelve weeks young Barbadian males will proudly wear the colours of their respective constituencies and engage competitively to secure the coveted trophy. They will be supported by the team of representatives from the constituency councils as well as cheering fans from communities across the length and breadth of Barbados. Persons young and old, families, and friends will descend of the playing fields in communities across Barbados to lend support to their home team. The tournaments provide a lively, wholesome, family oriented activity where vendors from the communities can earn a few dollars while spectators enjoy an inexpensive community lime.
