en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_and_Demons In my opinion, everything this author writes is gold...though I know many will disagree with me on this. I know a lot of people would also prefer the more hyped Da Vinci Code to this book, but I feel this one had much more substance. For those not familiar with the book or the movie, this Robert Langdon prequel has him racing against time to track down the Illuminati to rescue the Vatican from the threat of Antimatter, also attempting to rescue the four Preferiti (favorites among the cardinals to become the next Pope during Conclave). There are so many positive things to say about this book. The Illuminati make a much more interesting historical villain than the Knights Templar, there are tons of plot twists along the way, and the whole them of science vs. religion and the role they play in modern society makes this a very fascinating read that is hard to put down. Most of the downsides are comparing the book to the movie (as usual). The movie, while good, felt rushed by comparison and I dont understand while they left out the character of Maximillian. For the book, admittedly, the specific villain is nowhere near as interesting as the one portrayed in Dan Browns next book The Lost Symbol. Also, there is never much depth to the character of Robert Langdon. But in many thrillers, the books tend to focus on the events rather than the narrator. All in all, this was a great read I would recommend to anybody!
