hello there!! i cant believe i slept so long!!! 8:36, i came stumbling out of bed wondering what i missed... lol. i havent had a chance to tell you how our holiday was. IT WAS FAN-TAS-TIC!!!!! i brined the 30 pounder for 2 days in fruit and honey, Alton Browns recipe, put in in my antique oven, and within 20 minutes, THE FREAKIN BIRD WAS BLACK!!! (screaming) :/ ok, so...made some adjustments, covered tightly with foil, and called my friend, Billy Graham, the chef! (thank you billy) anyway, yes, the bird was black, but delectable! i removed the skin, sliced it up, and served it, without the glorious presentation of the whole bird, but no one knew and it was the best we ever ate! we so enjoyed having our boy, Caleb, and celebrating his 8th birthday as well! thank you to Connie Baker for allowing us to do this at her house, thank you Helen Shiell for the fabulous pumpkin muffins, and all the friends and family who made our holiday awesome! so sorry that Traci VanDevender and Angie Leap didnt show up! we missed you! and if anybody wants the recipe for the best-ever, whole berry cranberry sauce, im happy to share! now, onto Christmas!
