i say this a lot. i know. its what ive been called to do. Jesus so so so loves You and wants to make you righteous! clean! whole! safe! and free! if we want to know what God is like, what His will is, and how he feels about people we only have to look at Jesus Who is the express image of the Father. He went about doing good, healing all manner of sickness and disease of all who came to him. His mercy was towards those who knew they needed a savior while his rebuke was toward those who didnt believe that; those who wanted to be righteous in their own deeds. when He said to the self righteous that they needed to be perfect just as God is perfect He knew it was only through faith in Him could that be possible. but the self righteous thought they could attain righteousness by their deeds and did not understand,,,,not even when Jesus told them that if they even called someone a fool it was a serious and punishable offense. todays pharisees continue in that blindness! pointing out certain sins while ignoring others believing they are righteous and their sins will be winked at by God while others sins will not be overlooked. this is not the Gospel. Jesus showed on the sermon on the mount that every single sin will be judged and nothing will be ignored...not even calling someone a fool. i dont know about you but i fail every day whether in thought or in deed... and i know my need for His free gift of salvation through faith in Him is my only hope. my hope is found on nothing less than Christs Perfect finished work on the cross. will you receive His free gift and be made righteous through faith? or will you stand on your own merit? youre either on board the Gospel train, or youre left on the platform. its really not complicated. you have either been made forever right with God through faith in His Son....or you will be judged by your works. this is the believers account: 1. My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. 2. When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale My anchor holds within the veil. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. the Gospel is Good News! and it is the only Power unto salvation! it makes people new and through faith it works within each mind and heart turning people towards God! dont believe the horse before the cart message, it has no power to heal, save, deliver and set free and it certainly does not make righteous! only accepting the free gift can accomplish these things!
