Criminals victimize those in closest proximity to them, whether they are black, white, asian, hispanic......crimes by black people in their own neighborhoods do not make up the vast majority of crimes committed in this country, nor are black people the majority of the criminals in this country. The violence and looting in Ferguson by black ppl, while understandable and not condoned, does not represent the majority of black people who attempted to engage in peaceful demonstrations but were met with unwarranted violence. And some rage and violence in our communities while not condoned is understandable in light of the fact of high unemployment among minorities, poverty, homelessness, hopelessness, racism, systemic injustice. Imo, we are part of the problem when we start stereotyping, labeling, pathologizing your own ppl. #beapartofthesolution
