lawmaker’s son accidentally shoots self dead ABS-CBNnews MANILA - The son of Negros Oriental Representative George Arnaiz died after accidentally shooting himself in the head at their house in the town of Pamplona Saturday morning. Pamplona Police chief Senior Inspector Renato Bureros said 38-year-old George Agustus Arnaiz accidentally shot himself in the head using his father’s 45-caliber pistol. We believe, he thought that he properly unloaded all the live bullets because of how he was handling it, and in the process of bringing it down, he was shot in the head, Bureros said. According to Bureros, the elder Arnaiz saw his son bleeding after hearing a loud gunshot at around 5:45 a.m. They were sleeping in separate beds in the same room. Before the incident, the lawmaker said he was awakened while his son was putting a blanket on him, not knowing that the younger Arnaiz would get his gun from the drawer beside his bed. Investigators already ruled out foul play behind the shooting incident. Police authorities recovered two live bullets from the crime scene.
