libertarians, small l are NOT POLITICAL conservatives. Political conservatives. A libertarian will say: I dont do That because its bad for me, and for that reason, you should not do it too. A Conservative will say: I dont do That because its bad for me, and for that reason, you should not do it too. AND I am going to pass a law banning you from doing it. In that regard, being a conservative is no different than being a Democrat. Because you want to use Big Government to make decisions for people, to control behavior like President Obama and ObamaCare. The Democrats say, you should not forgo Health Care Coverage because its bad for you, so we are going to pass a law banning you from doing that; We are going to FORCE you to have it. Which is why, if you remember most conservatives, like Newt Gingrich initially SUPPORTED and Individual mandate; a requirement to have health insurance.
