of you who are interested in the George J. Bost who fought in the same Confederate unit as our Riley Francis Bost during the Civil War, his parents were Paul Bost and Margaret Lentz. Paul was a brother to John, grandfather of Riley Francis. According to my Family Tree Maker info Riley Francis would have been a second cousin to George J. Bost. They both lived in Iredell County, North Carolina and were member of the 8th Battalion, NC Junior Reserves. They were only 2 years difference in age, George being two years older. I do hope this answers your questions. There were two other men named George Bost close by Iredell who also fought in the Civil War. They were also cousins of Riley Francis Bost. Just about every Bost in the state of NC is related to us in some way. They all descend from Johannes Bast who came to America in 1732 at the age of 12 with his parents and migrated to NC.
