so the big news is a couple of months back Armada Music asked me to kick start a new compilation mix series Without Borders showcasing deep, prog, bass - whatever i want. the mix is nearly finished now, just waiting on licensing for some of the tracks & all being well thats going to be out just before xmas. theres some amazing music on there, everything from new underground artists to some of the scenes big names, & a great artwork design that i found through Two Cute Dogs (whos previously provided the KU Broadcast sleeve art). looking forward to showing you the images as much the music. really pleased to have had the chance to do this - its made me think again about the music i REALLY like, introduced me to a bunch of new artists & best of all it gave me the chance to inadvertently introduce my 79 year-old mother to the joys of listening to house music in the car while driving. i used a 7-hour round trip collecting her from south wales & bringing her to her home again to plough through some of the hundreds of tunes; i wouldnt normally inflict hours of beats & bass on my mum but with so much music to sort through she agreed so we worked our way across the brecon beacons & onwards leaving a trail of as much melodic club music as i could find. expecting her to be digging her fingernails into her palms i was very happily surprised when after a couple of particularly lush tunes she said its rather lovely isnt it? the music & the scenery - its like being in a film!. it was only then it occurred to me ive never once heard her play music in the car in my life. so, these two tunes have ended up being the foundation of the intro & really set the tone for the rest of the mix. so, more news on the mix very soon, not to mention the half dozen releases coming before xmas :)
