to go with the Brake parachute section - A work of art and in simple Pilot terms very clever ! - the chute sat under the Number 1 Engine Jet pipe in a specially designed container that fitted under the clamshell doors - The pilot pulled a lever in the cockpit on touch and literally a cable pulled the doors open ( see the springs inside the jet pipes ) and out popped th chute which was ingeniously at the bottom of the jet pipes but was tethered from the top jet pipe by a very strong cable wrapped around the rear fuselage - pure genius -
