-- During our happy hour last night at Bartini, I was talking way too much about science and politics, as I always do, when suddenly I noticed five out of the eight people were on their phones and not listening. I then noticed I had mine firmly grasped in my right hand as if a pterodactyl was going to swoop down and steal it before Barack could text me up for a hoop game... I digress. I could have taken major offense to this, but, regardless of my arduous droning on of words, most people were consistently and egregiously glued to their electronic devices like it was a cure for ebola... throughout the whole day and night. So we made the rule that all phones went in the middle of the table and whoever touched theirs first had to pay the total tab. We made a few loopholes for people waiting for business calls and such, but it worked great! Even if we had to google something the rule was you had to use someone elses phone. I honestly suggest doing this. Technology doesnt belong in your outdoor social lives!
