*- Police investigate killing in Gary-* Police are investigating the death of a man who was apparently shot during a robbery, then later found dead in a car after it struck a home. Authorities were told of the vehicle hitting the home in the 300 block of Durbin Street in Gary at about 6:45 p.m., investigators said. While en route, police were told in another phone call that the driver of the vehicle had not exited the vehicle, according to Gary Police Sgt. Thomas Decanter. Officers found a man, who had been shot, dead in the drivers seat. The Lake County coroners office had not released information on the slaying late Saturday. Decanter said the driver had been driving an employee of Ricos Pizza in Gary to a delivery and was shot during a robbery. The driver was not a Ricos employee, police said. Authorities said other details of the incident remain under investigation. The identity of the victim was not released late Saturday.
