05.08.2013 To, International Coordination Committee of the Non Residential Nepalese Committee (NRNA) Reference: - Our suggestion for the NRNA Dear Sir, In regards to your forth coming International Assembly in Kathmandu in October, 2013, our organization UK Nepal Friendship Society ( UKNFS), would like to put forward the suggests for the welfare of the Nepalese community abroad. 1. We need to prepare a realistic plan to main stream the Nepalese community in the respective countries where they are living permanently. It will make them feel safer in the new communities. 2. We need to seriously think about the deterioration of the Nepalese culture, language and customs in the new communities abroad. Since these are our identity, we must protect and promote them. 3. Remittance has become the back bone of the Nepalese economy. But unfortunately, we are not able to contribute in our economic development of Nepal through the remittance significantly. More over, it has not been used for the sustainable economic development of Nepal. 4. The developing countries where the Nepalese migration is on high scale can be our strong development collaborators. We need to identify the areas where they can support us and how we can mobilise them. 5. We need to be clear on how we can promote Nepalese tourism and investment by introducing Nepalese identity in these countries. 6. NRN needs to know on how it can contribute in the bilateral and multilateral relationship between Nepal and the developed countries. 7. We need to answer how we can identify and address the issues in these countries. 8. Reflection of the conflict of the ethnic difference has been seen in the Diaspora as well. How we can minimise that and promote harmony among the Nepalese communities. 9. Nepalese workers are suffering from the low skill and knowledge and getting less benefit while in the countries. How we can encourage them to be well skilled before coming to these countries. 10. How the NRN can become like a bridge between these countries and Nepal, especially in the countries without Nepalese embassy or embassies with low capacities. 11. How we can well inform the Nepalese communities about their requirement and preparations before coming to countries especially the students. 12. NRNA is now blamed to represent only the high class people and it is not able to represent the labourers especially in the Gulf countries. How we can be a connector of the communities abroad. 13. A new generation of the Nepalese communities is growing and how much we are prepared to solve their identity crisis in the coming future. 14. How we can suggest the government of Nepal for its development especially for foreign relations and economic development. 15. How NRN can encourage, influence and support the Nepalese authorities to stop the exploitation of the Nepalese workers, students and women by the agents, manpower companies and traffickers. We think, if NRNA is able to prepare a long term strategy based on the issues and suggestions above, it will be very effective and popular organization of the Nepalese community abroad. Thank you, Kind regards Ram Hari Adhikari General Secretary and Project Lead UK Nepal Friendship Society Bournemouth, UK
