051013 THE VICTORY OF DEFEAT 1 Corinthians 2: 6-16; Hebrew 2:14-18 1 Corinthians 2:8 “which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (NKJV) DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Kingdom achievement comes, by the application, of kingdom principles. These are principles not celebrated by the world, and yet its application has never failed to daze the world, with undeniable results. The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men. God wins all the time; and He has strange strategies for victory. If you want to win all the time, you must constantly consult with God, for the right strategy. What wins today may not win tomorrow; that is why it is necessary to be up-to-date with God. Scriptures have records of victories and achievements, whose strategies appear foolish, but their results are astounding. There are battles you win, by running, there are battles you win, by fighting, and there are battles you win, by losing. The battle of redemption was ordained to be won, by the strategy of defeat. Jesus Christ went through all the pain, shame, beating, crucifixion, and ultimately died, on the cross, and the devil was celebrating that he has defeated our Redeemer, but unknown to him, when he won in crucifying our Lord, he lost his dominion over the souls of men. The Bible says, talking about Jesus Christ, “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. The devil received the greatest shock of his life, when he realised that he lost, by winning. God is speaking to somebody today; your defeat shall be turned into victory, your shame into honour, and your tears into joy. This is the month of lamentation, for your enemy; they shall bite their fingers, and exclaim, “Had I known!” in Jesus’ mighty name. APPLICATION: Stay up-to-date with God. PRAYER FOCUS: Father, I thank You, because my testimonies shall surprise my enemies this month, in Jesus’ name. BIBLE READING 2 Peter 1 2 Peter 2 2 Peter 3 Isaiah 44
