1/1/2015. ॐ श्रीपरमात्मने नमः । HAPPY NEW YEAR It is our mere conveniency that consencously we have agreed to a day which we term as first day of the year. Time is incessant and immemorial. It was here before even humanity came into existence. So absolutely speaking it is totally absurd and humbug to say that particular day is the first day of the year. Then there comes several calendars. The different humanity in different parts of the world have accepted different calendars. The Europe and America and the most other countries have adopted the Gregorian calendar, or western Calendar, or Christian Calendar. India has also accepted that calendar. This calendar was first introduced by the 13th Pope Gregory in February 1582. Prior to that Julian Calendar was in practice. Julian Calendar was in practice since 45 BC. The Julian Calendar is precisely 13 days behind the Gregorian Calendar, meaning 1st January in the Julian Calendar is 14th January in the Gregorian Calendar. So absolutely speaking there is nothing like particular day is the first day of year. It is our mere conveniency. More over western countries rely on the Sun whereas our Hindu calendar is based on the Moon. So the Gregorian Calendar starts on 1st January each year whereas Hindu calendar starts on the 1st day of Kartik Month of Vikram Samvat. The most of the phenomenon of Nature follow the Moon Calendar. The two halves of the month- Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha, the ebb and tides in the sea, the spirit of mankind, your Mind, all these follow the Moon. The only part that was largely dependent on the Sun was the seasons. But after the major earthquake of 2001, the system of the seasons has also disrupted and it has also become more accurate to Moon Calendar. Irrespective of any particular calendar, we should try to utilize the psyche behind the belief. Before we enter into the subject let me give you an example to clarify the point. When space craft is launched, it first travels in the atmosphere of the earth where the gravitational force is there. But when it has to pierce the field of the gravitational force and has to enter the outer field, they fire a salvo to give the thrust to the Space Craft. The powerful force of that salvo enables the Craft to go outside gravitational force and the atmospherically field. Same way you have to undergo same sort of the things during the year with accumulating statistical data. This statistical data is some time encouraging when the company is profiting, or discouraging when the company runs into reds. Both the outcomes are unhealthy for the progress. If profit is there you become indifferent, if the loss is there you become disheartened. So a system is introduced, from where you start a new statistical data to improve in the new-year. Sometimes you may have strained relations with fellow friends, so this is an opportunity to start afresh. Weigh your relations and if you feel that the relation is energizing your mechanism and you want it, then you can apologize for the misunderstanding between you, irrespective of the fact who is at fault. More over your spiritual development is hindered due to the mundane world’s attraction on you, you can resolve to fire a salvo of Meditation in the new-year to pierce the world of mundane gravitational force and enter in the new spiritual mental world.
