10 Non - Negotiable anchors of ELAWU 1. ELAWU as a workers union promote solidarity amongst the workers irrespective of the sectors, since we are an independent Workers union organizing and representing workers in all sectors of our countrys wheels of economy. 2. ELAWU as an independent workers union prohibits any ownership of shares or having any interests in any company by the union or its leaders or officials as that does not only amount to conflict of interest but mostly compromise the struggle of the Workers in totality. 3. ELAWU as a workers union promotes direct involvement of the workers in all union processes and engagement with the employer by allowing its members to be part of the negotiation process with employers in all sectors we organise. Unlike in most cases where workers are only allowed to be spectators of the union and the employer while playing their own game in their name. 4. ELAWU is an independent union away from political affiliations or influence based on its founding principles , of independently advancing the workers struggle not that of any political party, However ELAWU shall support pro-working class calls by those left aligning movements provided their are legitly represent the aspirations of the workers. 5. When one sector is on action, whether it can be a strike or mass action union related matter, as ELAWU we promote that all our members must show support in pledging solidarity regardless of which sector they belong to. 6. ELAWU demands a government regulation of a decent minimum wage in all sectors raging from R 5000.00 salary at entry level. As that is the main radical and minimum effort toward economically liberating the poor Black Working class majority in the country, that boast one of the rich economies in the whole World through its valuable minerals and raw materials. 7. ELAWU calls for a right to work to be enshrined in the bill of rights within the constitution of the Republic which shall make it a constitutional Right to be employed in order to survive as a citizen and withstand the cost of living within an industrialized modern society based on production. 8. ELAWU calls for a total break away from One sector,One union resolution which ELAWU view as a resolution that divide workers whole the system is united in oppressing the workers. 9. ELAWU is outright rejecting the Tax Incentive Act and all its conditions as that Act amounts to incentivising exploiters for cheap labour at huge profits. While we call for permanent employment of the Youth, which shall provide qualitative on job training, and total destruction of exploitative internships and learnerships. 10. ELAWU challenges the Lockout Clause and promote seatins, go slows and stay aways. Because this clause in the LRA of this country provides employers an opportunity to undermine the workers demands while also continuing making profits through scab labour, thus further causing conflict and dividing both employed and the unemployed Working class. If workers must be locked out, why must the employer as a party to dispute between the two is allowed to trade and maximise profits? While workers suffer from the No work No Pay. Long Live ELAWU Long Live Workers Solidarity for Economic Liberation.
