11/17/2013 Casen and I were not sure what we were going to be - TopicsExpress

11/17/2013 Casen and I were not sure what we were going to be doing yesterday, but when Bull came home from checking in on the warehouse in Fontana he told me that there was a disaster in progress down there that could maybe use my attention. As it turns out Matt’s dog “Puppy”, or as I call her “Mama Dog” (for obvious reasons) has six baby dogs runnin’ around the inside of the shop loose. Well somehow they found a bucket of old motor oil that they decided would be a nice place to take a swim. When Casen and I got there it looked like a murder scene only instead of blood it was old oil all over the place, and every one of those little puppies looked like victims of a Golf Coast oil spill, even “Mama Dog” was covered. The only one that got away unscathed was Matt’s Pit-Bull “Baby”, or as I call him “Chicken Butt”. He’s a smart one for being such a dumb dog. Thank goodness that Matt’s wife Bea was already starting the cleanup. All I had to do for the time being was spread some spill absorbent around while Casen watched with great enthusiasm, and excitement, I’m sure. We also assessed the work that we needed to do so that later this week he and I could go down and move the old cars around to get them ready to come up to the house. Finally we are getting doors on the new garage next week. YAY!!! While I was in the middle of working on that my damn phone rang (It only rings when Im in the middle of working), so being curious I checked and it happened to be my old neighbor, and currant boss. He had sent me a message a week ago asking for help moving again. I sent him a message saying “Sure. Let me know.” even though down deep I was hoping he would forget about letting me know. I have moved so many people, and a number of them more than once.... “Shout out!” to my cousin Angela Estep. Well Gerry (my boss, and all around awesome person) was letting me know right then that he was on his way, so I finished up at the shop and took off to help unload Gerry’s U-Haul. Like I said Gerry is an awesome person. I always hear people at work telling me how Gerry likes to brag me up to everyone else. They tell me that he uses me as an example to the others of what a hard worker is. Even his sons (also very cool people) tell me that he talks a lot about what a hard worker I am. Geez… At least I’ve got one person that knows me fooled. Lol… No really, that makes a person feel real good about themselves, when they work hard and people really show their appreciation, not with money, or gifts, but by spreading the word that you’re a good person, and hard worker too. I know to a lot of you that will make you laugh out loud, but the news is folks PEOPLE CHANGE! I’ve worked on nothing harder in my life then trying to change the way everyone looks at me, and I think its finally taking hold. Am I an Asshole? Yes! Even a Total Jerk Sometimes? Naturally (Sagittarius), but a Bad Guy? NO! The best part of moving Gerry was to see my boss say those great things about me to my son that barley knows me at all, with genuine thrill in his voice to do so. I know he meant everything he said. I’ve never talked to Gerry about Casen. In fact that was the first time he heard I had a son. After we got everything moved (with Casen’s help) we just stood around with Gerry’s kids and talked about movies. Casen loves to talk about all kinds of movies, actors, directors, screen writers, and anything else involved in movie, or TV show making. So much so that when we were done a Gerry’s we went home and talked about all that same stuff till about 2:00am. We threw names of actors, and movies at each other for so long that we finally ran out of names to throw. That was day two…. Work. I for one had a pretty good day. I hope today finds us doing a little less physical labor.
