13 years ago was the worst day of my life. I was 9 in the fourth grade and my teacher was reading us a story. When all of a sudden another teacher comes running in and says the towers been hit. I didnt understand at first about what she meant until we started to walk downstairs and I looked out the window and saw the smoke and then it clicked. When I realized my mom Nancy De Leon worked at the World Trade Center I started telling one of my best friends in elementary school Rick Rodriguez my mom is in the trade center I was close to tears but he told me everything will be alright. My dad and my god sister Debbie Bauza whos mom Deb Gomez also worked at the World Trade Center picked me up from school and I see my dad Juan Rivera with this look in his face, a look that wants to be strong for me and my sister but also a look of doubt. I could see he had so many thoughts rushing threw his head. We went to my grandmas house and in every channel they were showing what happen. My grandma was crying like crazy as soon as she saw the plane hit the towers she fell on her knees. During this time I didnt know what to do, I was walking everywhere, I was confused, the thought of maybe losing my mom didnt cross my mind. As I walked towards the hallway I see my godmother first running in and when I turn around I see my mom she hugged my dad first and then went to me. Its funny my mom always tells me I never show her love but when this day comes I cry like a baby and give her a big hug and say I love you. My heart goes out to the people who lost someone on 9/11 and to men and women who tried and save them. Never forget. I love you mommy.
