143rd British Open - Golf - Open Final Round under progress Rory Mcllroy leading by a score - 16 after round 4 followed by Ricky Fowler in second place with a score of - 10. Adam Scott is 16th with a score of - 6 and imagine, the Great Champ, Tiger Woods is 69th with a +6 score. Latest and right now McIlroy (-17) leads by seven after a birdie on one. Fowler is short with his birdie putt to stay at -10 with the open final round having started 20 minutes ago at Royal Liverpool, Hoylake. For a moment, we had a golf tournament. Now it looks like a coronation. Rory McIlroy left the door open after an even-par front nine but kicked it closed on the final five holes, capped by twin eagles on the par-5 16th and 18th holes at Royal Liverpool yesterday leaving him squarely in control to win the 143rd British Open. Mcllroys four-under 68 has him six shots clear of Rickie Fowler (68) and seven shots ahead of Sergio Garcia (69) and Dustin Johnson (71). Mcllroys pair of eagles coming home extended his lead to the largest 54-hole margin at the British Open since Tiger Woods led by six at St. Andrews in 2000. Tiger Woods started well on the 17th July. He was playing his first major of the season. On the opening day, 17th July, he was three shots back after recovering from starting with two bogeys. But unlike other sports, a golfers real enemy is never his or her opponent but him/herself and more importantly, his or her surroundings. That is one reason why the game has managed to keep a sense of sportsmanship at its heart - even at the highest level golfers are united in their battle against the course as much as each other. Woods on his come back trial, I should say, has performed well despite being a loser in this tournament.
