1992- my grandfather talking to Oliver Dickinson (a great man, friend and a true worker): Oliver, Matt here is good at walking fields and throwing bales. He may not look it and he tends to stay up way too late talking to girls (Teresa Diane Shackelford) but he gets up and doesnt complain about a full days work. Thanks grandpa. Because of that comment I got my first real job at Wildes working for Oliver. Always amazed me how hard Oliver worked. Even at 19 I wasnt able to keep up with him. Every day he came in an hour before me, stayed after I left and then went home to farm. I truly admired him for his work ethic and straight forward and firm manner. People have no idea what a hard worker is anymore. On this lovely Easter Day I reflect on and appreciate being shown what true men like Oliver and my grandfather considered a days work.
