2 Events Happening Right Now: The Regional Conference on Child Spacing and Child Survival for Traditional and Religious Leaders in North West Nigeria: A conference is presently ongoing in Sokoto today, 4th November 2014. It is convened by Association of Reproductive Family and the Society for Family Health under the auspices of the Expanded Social Marketing Project in Nigeria.. The aim of the conference is bring together traditional and religious leaders in four North Western states of Nigeria namely Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa and Zamfara, under the leadership of Sultan of Sokoto with a view to achieve better acceptance of Child spacing and survival services and improved maternal and child health through child spacing. The traditional and religious leaders (Sultan and Emirs) who will discuss and agree on the identified challenges that need to be addressed and will in turn pass on the information to their various communities as a way of creating awareness and acceptance of health services. The theme is transforming pharmacy practice for better outcomes.
