2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth - TopicsExpress

2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been stored up (reserved) for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly people. He lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. O mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain upon you, or fields with offerings. For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, as though he were not anointed with oil. And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; Great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. As the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. And the Lord will utterly destroy The tongue of the Sea of Egypt; And He will wave His hand over the River With His scorching wind; And He will strike it into seven streams And make men walk over dry-shod. Isaiah 11:15
