2015 DELTA STATE GOVERNORSHIP RACE: WHY DELTANS SHOULD SUPPORT, WORK AND VOTE DR. FESTUS GOZIEM OKUBOR FOR GOVERNOR, DELTA STATE COME 2015. A careful look and analysis at the preparations for the 2015 general elections shows a great interest in the Governor Seat or position. The reasons are clear and obvious; the conviction from different quarters within and outside the state that Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor deserves to occupy the Unity House Asaba come May, 29th 2015. Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor should be seen beyond Delta North Aspirant but Delta State People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in 2015 Governorship election. While Deltans should support, work, stand and vote the only humble astute leader on this, I think a neglect of the expected qualities of a good leader will be inimical to our collective progress as a people, as the Unity House remains a strong vehicle to drive in development to the people of the state. Delta State as a community comprises of old and young vibrant men, women and youths should be committed to the Okuborism Oshobe 2015 Governorship Project, after a careful assessment of other major gladiators within the Delta State from the Delta North to Delta Central to Delta South, have come to the inevitable conclusion that the former Delta State Chief of Staff, Government House Asaba stands out and should be urge and give him the needed support in the Governorship race to be the next Governor of our great Delta State come 2015. I say this for the following reasons; As a one time National Publicity Secretary, Grassroot Democratic Movement (GDM) in the test-run of democracy in Nigeria, he is conversant with the original dreams for agitated for democracy in the country being one of the agitators, so he is not likely to deviate from those democratic ideals that will bring the needed dividend of democracy to the people of Delta state. This is why he so much believes in Government by Democracy and continuity. His appointment as the transition committee chairman in Ika North East Local Government Council of Delta State after enthronement of democracy in Nigeria without any opposition from the Local Government Area confirm him as a strong Grassroot negotiator and also his appointment as Director of Protocol to the Delta State Government without any disagreement/objection from the three Senatorial districts of the State, confirm him as a strong detribalized Deltan who can further help to foster unity, peace while still maintaining his identity as IKA MAN. His appointment as a commissioner for Special Duties to the State Government has shows that he is a MAN of honour, integrity and assertiveness-basic qualities for effective representation. As a Medical Practitioner with over twenty years of experience, he is conversant with the living standards and well equipped for the task to improve the standards of living of the people. His sojourn into National Politics in Nigeria, first as National Publicity Secretary of the Grassroot Democratic Movement (GDM), Ika North East Chairman, Director of Protocol, Commissioner for Special Duties, Commissioner for Information, Commissioner for Health, Chairman Health Management Board (HMB), Deputy Director General of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Governorship Campaign Organization, Deputy Director General of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council across the Delta State, former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Delta State His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, place him on a better stead in both administrative, policy making and implementation in governance to work out the needed collaboration with the National level (Presidency). In all these years of one appointment or one office to another, all in the People Democratic Party (PDP) led government, there were no any traced of corruption charges against him or been indebted of any sharp practice, misconduct or rebel against the party, because he is a democrat and progressive as well who believes and abide by the party constituted authority and the constitution of the party and Nigeria as well. He carries out his duties and responsibility with diligence, and with all sense of humility and loyalty from one successful office/government in the state to another. While Deltans should not also dispute the competence of some of our brothers and sisters who are also in the Governorship race, Deltans should hold strongly the view that the interest of the people will be better served when a more competent and experience Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor emerges as Governor of the State who by his track records has confirmed his ability and capacity to help to narrow the gap between the National level and State level. These developments, to Deltans mind, will no doubt fast-track the socio – economic/political development of the State. It is only the truth that can set us free. If all politicians/aspirants in our Delta state are like Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor, the state would have been a congenial abode for everybody, and man would have been living freely with his fellow men without political misunderstanding. Because Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor does not believed in the politics of do or die affair, he understands that power comes from God be it executive or not. This is why his followers and supporters abide in this principle and key in into the politics of real issues by engaging the people on discussions that will move Delta state forward and better the lives of all deltans come 2015. Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor pattern/principle of politics is superb, unique and splendid in play. Having see all these outstanding qualities in our indefatigable, political activist, experience, amiable, sagacious, not egocentric, efficacious, egalitarian, assiduous, elegant, philanthropist, and astute leader, Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor. I urge Deltans to support, work and vote Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor the next Governor of Delta State for good governance, continuity of democracy, dividend of democracy, quality/good healthcare delivery/services, quality infrastructural development, human capital development, youths meaningful engagement/empowerment, old age healthcare services, mass employment, poverty alleviation, qualitative/quantitative advance education e.t.c. Long live Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor/PDP Long live Deltans Long live Delta State Long live Nigeria. OKUBORISM IS ALL D WAY.
