2015: No alternative to Jonathan –Gulak The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmad Gulak, has declared that there is no alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.He described the criticisms of the president by some Nigerians as nothing but a noise by those he called frustrated politicians. Gulak in a statement by his group, Goodluck Support Group (GSG), accused unidentified politicians of sponsoring campaigns in the media to smear the reputation of President Jonathan. He urged the international community to ignore the noisy propaganda sponsored in the press by the opposition. The presidential aide, who made similar re-marks at an award ceremony for eminent women by the Global Connections for Women Foundation to mark the 2014 International Women’s Day in New York, United States of America, insisted that the president had performed creditably. He said: “We have searched from the West, East, North and the South and as I speak with you, we have not found an alternative to Goodluck Jonathan. What you get to hear in the press is the work of the opposition who are desperate to hold power and definitely they are not going to be an alternative to this present administration. “We have seen what some of them had done in the past and we are still seeing what they are doing. Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan is progressing, we are developing.” Gulak called for sup-port from global super powers in the fight against terrorism. Responding, Chairperson of GC4W, Chief Temitope Ajayi, said women were engines of growth, adding that women should be given more opportunities to contribute to the political leadership of the country.
