Dato’/ Datuk/ Datin/ Sir/ Madam, ACTIVITIES AND OPERATIONS DURING THE HAZE PHENOMENON May I refer to the above matter. 2. The haze has shrouded a major part of Malaysia since early June. Continuous exposure to the haze is detrimental to our health however, the current Air Pollutant Index (API) is within moderate range. 3. In view of the above, the Management of the University has taken into account of the situation and decided that activities and operations may continue as usual at Faculties/Academies/Institutes/Centres/Residential Colleges/Departments. Nevertheless, staff and students are advised to remain indoors as far as possible and limit their outdoor activities. A face mask (nasal mask) should be worn by those working outside the building and those categorized as highly - risked workers. The Management of the University will be monitoring the situation and shall keep you informed when the need arises. For more information, please refer to the Health Advisory for Haze attached, prepared by the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. 4.
