29TH OCTOBER,2013 MORNING DEVOTION: AMAZING GRACE TAKES YOU UP AND KEEPS YOU THERE TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds feet, And makes me walk on my high places”. Habakkuk 3.19 A hind is a female deer or a doe. It can easily and swiftly move on treacherous grounds. A hind can climb steep slopes without any difficulty. Our opening scripture says when we get weary, tired and broken down God is our strength! God makes our feet like hinds feet. This is a vivid picture of Gods grace. A hind never went before God and asked, God, I want feet that can make me climb steep slopes, I want to tread on rocks and not slip or fall. God granted the hind its feet by His eternal goodness and grace. To get a clearer picture of what Habakkuk was talking about let us read some previous verses; “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakuk 3:17-18 Habakkuk could rejoice because he understood the grace of God. He called the God of his salvation. The word salvation in that scripture is where we get the name Joshua or Jesus. Habakkuk trusted in the God of deliverance. When we walk in the mountainous terrains of life, our feet will be suited for that. When we have to climb steep mountains, our feet are suitable for that. We can move rapidly across rocks and mountains because the Lord has made our feet to be hinds feet. The grace of God equips you adequately to go through the storms of life and come out victorious! When God takes us to high places, by His grace He gives us the right feet to walk in those places. Gods grace takes us to high places. When God lifts us by His grace, He makes us walk on rocks and mountains like we are walking on a well groomed lawn. This is what grace does, taking us from glory to glory! In 2 Samuel 22.34 and Psalm 18.33; David says He makes my feet like hinds feet, And sets me on my high places. When God takes us to high places, we need the hind feet so that we dont slide and fall. The Lord sets us on High places and establishes us accordingly. The amazing grace of God takes us to our high places and keeps us there. What takes us up is what keeps us up. If the Lord takes you up by His grace, then He will keep you up. The Lord turned my feet to hinds feet by His grace. Grace cannot take you where it cannot keep you! Today’s Confession I move from grace to grace and from glory to glory by the amazing grace of God at work in my life. Halleluyah!
