3 REVIEWS at AMAZON for my newest song:John Niems, you have once again taken music to yet another level. Your instrumentals of the past bring a special flavor to the airwaves of the present, and your lyric, notably provokes food for deliberate thought, worthy of serious contemplation. In this piece, the beat, rhythm, and cadence complement the melody as your familiar message marches on in reverberation. Quite striking, I must say, the way you accomplish this, song after song, in all your variety. An appreciation I wholeheartedly cherish, most gratefully. It gives memory an excuse to reason, for reflecting upon The Beatles, John Lennon, Imagine, I hope someday youll join us, and the world will live as one. In your tunes, we hear folk, and country rock, jazz with classic pop, talent unforeseen, in the way you live your dream. Masterfully done, my good man. -kr johnniems/music/ Comment Was this review helpful to you? Yes No 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful When in Doubt just buy it... By Deb on October 1, 2014 John Niems has done an excellent job of blending tongue in cheek humor with a very serious topic. Its a song about the trouble our nation is in. There arent enough musicians out there today that sing about the abuses of government. Musicians, along with comedians that get their material from current events, have always had the ear of the masses and the ability to get them to think and perhaps do something substantial to change the world. These are the people that inspire us. This song, with its upbeat tempo, is surely fun to listen to, but it also has a point to make. Its a catchy tune that stays with you. So does the message it conveys. Comment Was this review helpful to you? Yes No but John Niems makes it all go down easy with a Tin Pan Alley By Elizabeth Abbott on November 10, 2014 USS Liberty, Oklahoma City Bombing, Sandy Hook & 9/11. Does your average American consumer of TV News, Time Magazine or even PBS even know what really happened here? Do they care? Is there another side to the Official Story? Does investigating this and more make a difference? Heavy stuff to ponder perhaps, but John Niems makes it all go down easy with a Tin Pan Alley, Beatle-esque ala Your-Mother-Should-Know musical nod. While were tapping our toes and chuckling at the tongue-in-cheek digs, hes talking about what our elected leaders, trusted reporters - and most certainly our neighbors - refuse to discuss: the elephant in the room called the CIA. We get a little history lesson on the random & unrelated tragedies that have shaken America to its core: from JFK & MLK being taken out, to False Flag operations to CIA drug rings. Niems has clearly done his homework on these topics and this is topical songwriting at its best. All made palatable with vocals and arrangements, crafted in a way that might just make you picture Dick Van Dyke delivering it on a song-and-dance stage with hat & cane. Ahhh yes: The C I A-aaaaa...they think killings okaaaayy. Get the download and put on your earbuds -- and while youre being schooled on what the hell is really going on in our world, the nostalgic, old-timey genre will turn your digital track into a 78 rpm record playing on your Grammas Gramophone. Bravo, John! Stellar tune, piano, harmonies and arrangement. LOVE that mid-range sounding vocal commentary throwing in the zingers! Do we really need the CIA? I think we know the answer.
