3 Simple Tips For Self-Healing Let Your Body Heal Itself - 3 easy ways to self heal from Dr. Fabrizio Mancini In the mid-eighties, I was studying pre-med at the University of Dallas, with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. At the time I was rear-ended in a car accident and severely injured. The accident landed me in the hospital. The orthopedic surgeon in charge of my care gave me the card of his chiropractor. I had no idea what a chiropractor was or even how to pronounce the word “chiropractic.” I trusted the surgeon’s advice and visited the chiropractor. The doctor of chiropractic invited me into his office and I asked him that question we have all asked: “What is it that chiropractors do?” He said that chiropractic is rooted in this simple principle: “The power that made the body heals the body.” I was so intrigued by this idea that I decided to become a chiropractor myself. An integral part of self-healing is spiritual. Deepening your spiritual roots through faith, spirituality, or simply a closeness to nature has profound effects on healing. It provides meaning and comfort in times of illness, so that the experience of a disease is better – all of which can promote healing. Below are some tips for self-healing, for more healing tips and a 21 day program to totally unlock your self-healing powers, see my book, The Power of Self-Healing. Here are 3 Tips To Help You Self-Heal 1. Find creative outlets. Many studies have linked creativity to positive health conditions such as lower blood pressure, less stress, better mood, less fatigue, and better health overall. What do you truly love to do? What makes your spirit soar? Whatever the activity, set the intention to add it to your daily or weekly routine. Let creative expression lift your spirit and energize your life. 2. Incorporate the power of the “healing triad” in your life. This is a trio of spiritual sentiments, namely forgiveness, gratitude, and love. First, learn how to forgive. To forgive means to let go of resentments and blame. It is a gift you give to yourself, and not something you do for someone else. Second, although things may not always be as we want them to be, it’s important to remember that our lives are filled with freedoms, blessings, and positive relationships that we often take for granted. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed, it’s probably time to begin to acknowledge the good things in your life. Third, be loving toward others. You can do this by extending love and friendship to others, and in doing so, you will receive it yourself. 3. Seek a spiritual path. Reconnect with your faith if you have lapsed, or return to the religion of your youth. If right now spirituality for you is really a religion, then you try exploring that religion a little more deeply, and understand the lessons within it. Whatever spiritual path we select, a change occurs in us when trust in it, turn to it, and believe in it. Wonderful things happen. Our immune systems get a boost. Our brains release chemicals that serve as natural painkillers and mood enhancers. Our blood pressure decreases; stress and anxiety are reduced. We sleep better and we feel better. We, indeed, are healed.
