...31 Days/31 Horror Movies: Day Twenty-One: Angel Heart: ...a murder mystery?? Most definitely!! But considering who is involved here, as well as what is involved, the raw and visceral horror overtones cannot be denied. A sleazy and rumpled Brooklyn detective is hired by a mysterious and sinister recluse, who is determined to find a certain missing person...someone who owes him something. And as the hapless detective digs beneath the mystery of the missing fellow...taking him from the gritty streets of New York, to the occult-enshrouded wetlands of New Orleans...he finds himself further drawn into an enigma...as well as pegged as the prime suspect in a series of murders... the victims of which have connections with the mystery man, which he was hired to find. Deliciously grim, creepy, shocking and unsettling, right from the start...
