4 And in my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Cor 2:4-5 KINGDOM DYNAMICS: DEMONSTRATE THE GOSPEL, SHEPHERDING AMID THE SUPERNATURAL. The text reveals an apostolic priority that leadership must contend for in an era when the intellect is often deified and the demonstration of the Spirit and of power (Greek apodeixis) either unsought or ridiculed. The word is derived from the term used to describe actions that exhibit or accredit, validate a claim, a truth, or a presence. The NT apostolic value system sought and was grateful for the Holy Spirits power-works, and so their manifestation is a worthy persuit and expectation today as we declare Gods Word or testify to the lost (Mark 16:20). Expect manifestations of the Holy Spirit, not for show or sensation, but as means for God to validate the glory of the gospel. (James 3:14-16/Eph. 4:11,12) B.J.D.
