The ethereal notes of Sigur Ros are found in some sections, whilst the melodious drone of Brian Eno features heavily elsewhere and a less malevolent Sunn O))) hovers close by. The difficulty with ambient music is the slightness of variation between tracks that can often heavily blur the boundaries between them, especially where there is an absence of any memorable motifs to distinguish them. This EP suffers from that very problem, however what is offered are some surprisingly welcoming soundscapes to slip into during an introspective bathtime or some late night R&R. This is an encouraging effort from a couple of talented musicians, and as a first foray into the world of ambience, is worth checking out for newcomers and the initiated alike. (Kiron Mair)
