Carillon for reciter and orchestra by Edward Elgar to words of Cammaerts, is performed for the first time, in Queen’s Hall, London, conducted by the composer. The work is written in memory of all the bell towers of Flanders destroyed in the current conflict. Germans attempt to cross the Yser again without success. Indian Expeditionary Force completed by arrival of Sirhind Brigade from Egypt. In Mesopotamia the British troops have success at Mezera.
