Of the sixty seven posts, nine posts are reserved for Scheduled Castes Candidates, four posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribes Candidates, eighteen posts are reserved for Other Backward Classes Candidates and remaining thirty-six posts are Unreserved. QUALIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL: EDUCATIONAL: Master’s Degree in Physics or Geophysics or Geology or Mathematics from a recognized University or Institute; or BE or AMIE in Electronics or Communication from a recognised University or Institute. DUTIES: Providing assis- tance to the Geophysicist in data acquisition, processing and interpretation of geo- physical data. Duty of a Geophysicist is to execute geophysical exploration pro- gramme in inaccessible remote areas and to conduct field work. Broadly the geo- physical methodologies include seismic, electrical resistivity, gravitational, magnetic, radio metric and electromagnetic parameters using a variety of sophisticated instru- ments often specially designed as geophysical instrumentation and mounted on spe- cial platforms such as aircraft, marine vessels or satellites. ANY OTHER CONDITIONS: Every appointee on his/ her 1st appoint- ment in Geological Survey of India shall have to successfully complete the induction or orientation training conducted by Geological Survey of India Training Institute.
